He asked his guru to help him find liberation and simplify the practices for moksha. The answer given by the guru interested me a lot. The agents for your liberation look for three types of scars. Scar in your feet that searched for truth,Scar in your tongue which spoke the truth, scar in your soul in which truth resides.
If you just have one of these scars the destiny is determined in a very interesting fashion. If u have scar only in feet meaning you just have searched enough for truth you will be given a guru in your next birth. Scar in the tongue you will be made a guru so u may spread the truth far and wide. If u have scar in your soul that bore the truth you will be made both.
